So, I got a sweet deal for a gorillapod on amazon.
Its a great tripod, its hard to find a tripod of such versatility and stability, it holds well and can pretty much wrap around anything , it is very useful.
The top is a slider that detaches so you can screw it onto a camera easily.

so my version can only hold compact and bridge cameras, but there is also the SLR and SLR zoom tripods for DSLRs and SLR it also comes in a variety of colours.It is very light .
